YALA (THAILAND), Dec 19 (Bernama) — Police have detained two suspects in connection with the burning of a Bangkok-bound passenger bus while it was running in Yala’s Bannang Sata district on Sunday, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

One of the detainees is a shop owner, selling gasoline in bottles near the bus torching site. According to witnesses, militants gathered at the shop before they carried out the attack.

The other detainee is a woman, who is believed to have brought the clothes to the insurgents for changing.

Both suspects are being questioned at the 21st ranger regiment in Yala’s Raman district.

About ten armed persons stopped the passenger bus and forced all on board to leave the bus before they torched the empty vehicle. No one was hurt in the incident.
